Team Spirit, Staffies and Stepping Up: Meet Oliver Sebok
A Start on the Shop Floor
When most 16-year-olds worried about exams, Oliver Sebok was clocking shifts at a local café-grocer. Those early jobs gave him a solid grounding in the world of work - specifically in warehouse life. He did everything from receiving deliveries to stocking shelves. Time passed and on he went to do similar work at Spotlight before landing at a piping company, where he learned to drive a forklift. These skills set the course for his career change.
Stepping into Morrows
Almost two years ago, Oliver joined Morrows Logistics. What started as another warehouse role quickly grew into something more. Within his first year, he was promoted to Team Leader.
“Now I help management oversee daily operations,” says Oliver. “That means coordinating with Keysborough, arranging pick-ups and trucks, and ensuring orders are correctly arranged, allocated and manifested. I keep things flowing. I’m the link between the team and the bigger picture.”
Finding His Family at Work
Ask Oliver what he loves most, and his answer comes quickly. “The team. It feels like a little family. We even do monthly lunches. Everyone’s easygoing, everyone gets along and it makes all the difference,” says Oliver.
That strong culture has fuelled his achievements, from being named Team Member of the Month twice to winning Most Improved at the end of the year. “Honestly, I’m proudest of the relationships I’ve built. Being able to share knowledge, help people out and be someone they can rely on, that’s a win in my book,” says Oliver.
A Life of Balance and Ambition
Outside work, Oliver spends time with his two English Staffies, experiments with vegan recipes and keeps active at the gym. “Cooking, fitness and walks with the dogs keep me balanced,” says Oliver.
And while he enjoys the day-to-day, he’s already thinking about what’s next. “Down the track, I’d love to step into a supervisor or management role. I’m really interested in leadership, and logistics feels like the right place for me,” says Oliver.
